For economic and technical reasons, current #publictransport vehicles are designed for a long service life. To ensure their reliable operation for many years, advanced and modern equipment (e.g. sensors), systems (e.g. power supply, communication, monitoring systems), and spare parts are used. All of them must constantly be adapted to the latest quality and technological standards and trends. This is also important when it comes to the #tram interior, in particular passenger information systems about which both #passengers and vehicle operators or carriers have high expectations.
Having the AWIA SDIP #realtimepassengerinformationsystem in our offer, we want to follow the current trends and meet the requirements of tram passengers in terms of passenger comfort (quick access to current information, access to W-LAN network), effectiveness of information provided to passengers, and feeling safe through cameras installed in cars. We are aware that these expectations can only be met through the use of efficient and robust networks and data interfaces – and these were the issues discussed by our representatives during the 1st Technical Conference “#Trams – data transmission, signalling, and power supply technologies” held on 27-28 May 2021 and organised by the Polish Chamber of Railway Equipment Producers and Railway Service Providers together with HARTING Sp. z o.o.
