The ENTE team has completed the delivery and installation of advanced systems in the 31WE-004 vehicle of Koleje Dolnośląskie. Thanks to the implemented solutions, travel has become even more comfortable, safe, and aligned with modern railway transport standards.

 

Scope of Modernization

As part of the modernization, a number of innovative systems were implemented in the vehicle:

  • Passenger Information System (SIP) – displays clear and up-to-date announcements on screens and through the public address system.
  • CCTV monitoring – provides full video surveillance inside the vehicle, enhancing passenger safety.
  • Passenger Counting System – allows for the optimization of traffic and better management of train occupancy.
  • Wi-Fi – provides stable and fast internet connectivity for passengers.
  • Modernized Audio System – improves communication quality both in the passenger area and in the driver's cabin.
  • Installation of Passenger Intercoms – enables quick and easy communication between passengers and train staff.
  • New Conductors' Stations – equipped with LCD terminals, improving passenger service and the management of the Passenger Information System.
  • Integration with Vehicle Systems – enables control of lighting, air conditioning, and data reading from the CAN bus, improving fleet management efficiency.
  • New Network Switches – increase the efficiency and stability of connections within onboard systems.
  • Request Button Support – full integration with the Passenger Information System, enhancing travel comfort.

 

P4 Inspection – A Key Stage in Modernization

On January 16, 2025, the 31WE-004 vehicle completed its first trip after the P4 inspection. This was a comprehensive fourth-level overhaul, covering key components and extending the vehicle's lifespan. It is the first such extensive modernization in the history of the IMPULS I series, carried out by the Fleet Manager of Koleje Dolnośląskie.

 

The Future of Modernization

The modernization of 31WE-004 is just the beginning. Future upgrades are planned, which will further enhance the standards of rail travel.
